Philippine Government: You Have Failed The Filipinos

The country management system of the Philippines has failed its constituents and it is now being felt fully by the people you "serve."

No, this is not a post against the administration. It is a post against the whole government system that has evolved into a system of corruption and crime, which instead of respecting, nurturing and uplifting the Filipinos, you have pillaged, abused and cheated the people.

Every Filipino knows. Each and every Filipino knows, corruption is embedded inside every government entity whether its in the lowly baranggays up to the highest ranks of government. Even SK officials, the youth, becomes the training ground for how low the service can go. Someone knows someone who can make things happen for a price, always. You serve the Filipinos, not us serving you. You are not kings or queens, or dukes or duchess, or royalty. You are elected, appointed or hired to serve. Not to steal, not to take advantage, not to abuse, but to uphold and ensure that Filipinos get what they deserve. And we do not deserve our hardships in life right now.

Bad road infrastructure, worsening flooding, HORRIBLE TRAFFIC, poor public transport system, expensive food items, bad agriculture, very low standard of living, unfair justice system, dysfunctional laws that worsen our situation. Every department of the government: Executive, Judiciary, Legislative, corruption exists, in big and small ways. It is part of the system.

Corruption is a festering wound that covers the whole body and rots the insides, slowly killing the country and its people. It had crept in because corruption has been deep in our culture, and it integrated into the government system as a side process which are only whispered and known to a few. There are people who corrupt, and the corrupted, and it is infections because we are easily swayed and very few Filipinos are principled enough not to give in. Because principles, respect and dignity go away if you are hungry, desperate and illiterate. Everyone keeps on saying we have a choice, but majority knows this side of the voters, we are put on a position where we no longer have a choice. Because we are just too busy and too tired to survive and exist, because we are being oppressed by the very people and system who were instituted to take care of us. Its like coming to a hospital who we pay to heal us, but instead makes our medical condition worse, and we are expected to be thankful of what they did?

To the people of the government, be sincere in your duty. It is not a stepping stone to advance your interest. When you work for the government, you are called to service the needs of Filipinos, not squander or take advantage for your own personal or anybody's gains. You should not even take a single centavo, benefit or anything aside from your proper compensation, whether directly or indirectly. Most of your predecessors have set a very low bar for government service, and that low bar permeates, until this day, many of the halls of power of government. You and your minions have become entitled and think you deserve the fruits of corruption, hence everyone in government acts entitled, and no one is setting an example on how to serve the Filipinos.

Yes, I see it too. Everywhere, Filipinos treating each other as trash. We have lost the respect and the dignity for each other, because that is how we are being treated by our governments for the longest time. The Spaniards, the Japanese, they treated us like shit, but in fairness to Americans, we felt respected. Americans were just with us for a very short time, but we felt respected. And this is why we have been biased colonially, because of how we built things with Americans. But now, the government seems like a colonial, pillaging and raping the Philippines while giving very little in return. Filipinos can do this to fellow Filipinos. How low can your morals and respect go? This is the result of your immorality and disrespect to the people who you work for.

And to the ones who are saying they are not participative of this corruption, of course you are. You turn a blind eye. To the ones in power, if you are really sincere about ending corruption, you use every tool of the system you have to eliminate the people and weaknesses exploited. Change the game if necessary, change the rules and policies. Its easier said than done, we know. But we are calling for change peacefully. We have been calling for these for decades, and so far only a few people have heeded the call. We pray for more sincere people to help us change our lives, so we all can rise together. Talangka mentality is real because of the majority are at rock bottom. If there was a mechanism to authentically boost us up from where we are now, I believe a mental and emotional shift will happen through the years. That instead of pulling each other down, we will be pulling each other up. Its the government who should create ways to level the game, and reverse the talangka mentality. The highlight of this will be we are pulling each other up, because we need each other. And when that time comes, government has been fulfilling its role satisfactorily.
